Dear Editor:
Sandy: One Year Later
Do you remember where you were one year ago, the third day after Sandy? Most of us were hard at work digging out. We were also banding together to get supplies, share the workload, organize nighttime watches and communicating what little information we had from the outside world.
Rockaway stood strong together. Let’s remember that camaraderie and sense of community as we move past the first anniversary of Sandy. The disaster brought out the “golden rule” in people: Love thy neighbor. I hope we can keep that as a positive legacy from a terrible night.
